Payment modes in Smart Receipts

Record how each expense was paid with a reusable list of payment modes, such as a specific card, cash, or a corporate card. Payment modes keep entry consistent and make it easy to separate personal from reimbursable spending.

What it is

Simple named list

A payment mode is a name, for example "Personal Visa", "Cash", or "Corporate Amex".

One per expense

Each expense records exactly one payment mode.

Consistent entry

Picking from a list avoids typing the same thing in different ways and keeps reports tidy.

Backed up

Payment modes are part of Dropbox and OneDrive backup.

Where it shows up

  • The Payment Mode field on the expense form.
  • Filters in the expense list and export screen, so you can pull only what was paid on a given card.
  • Reports, where you can see how much went through each card or wallet.

Good to know

Tip: Employees should add "Personal card" and "Corporate card". Everything on the personal card is what needs reimbursing. Freelancers should split "Business" and "Personal" the same way.

When you delete it: Deleting a payment mode does not remove expenses. They simply lose that label.
