Your receipts are yours: private, never sold
Smart Receipts is built with a privacy-first approach. Use it without an account and everything stays on your iPhone, or sign in to keep your receipts backed up and in sync across your devices. Either way, we never sell your data or use it for advertising. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Works Without an Account
You can use Smart Receipts without signing in. Your receipts and expenses are then stored only on your iPhone, and they are not sent to our servers, except a receipt you ask the app to read with AI. Anonymous usage analytics and crash reports still help us improve the app.
Private Sync When You Sign In
Sign in with Apple or Google to back up your receipts and use them on all your devices. Your data is encrypted in transit, only your account can reach it, and receipt files are only served through short-lived links after checking they are yours. Signing out clears the phone; your data waits in your account.
Face ID & Touch ID Lock
Protect your financial data with biometric authentication. Turn on the Face ID or Touch ID lock in Settings to require it every time you open the app. Deleting your account also asks for Face ID first.
No Ads, No Data Selling
We never sell your data and never use it for advertising or to track you across other apps and websites. We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics only to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes.
AI Scanning, Not AI Training
When you scan or email a receipt, it is read on our server with OpenAI to fill in the merchant, date, amount and tax. OpenAI does not use your receipts to train its models.
Encrypted Dropbox & OneDrive Backup
Prefer your own cloud? Back up to your Dropbox or OneDrive. Everything is encrypted with a key kept in your iPhone’s keychain before it leaves your device.
Your Data, Your Control
Edit or delete anything at any time, export your expenses as PDF or CSV, and delete your account right from the app. Deleting your account removes your receipts and data from our servers, and if you signed in with Apple we also revoke the app’s access to your Apple ID.
