Decimal places in Smart Receipts
Choose how many decimal places amounts and tax are rounded to. Two is right for most currencies, zero suits currencies without minor units, and three fits currencies that use thousandths.
How it works
One setting for every amount
The decimal places value applies to expense amounts, tax portions, and the totals built from them.
Live example
Account Setup shows a sample such as 9,523.81 that updates as you change the number, so you can see the effect before saving.
Matches the currency
Use 0 for currencies like JPY or KRW, 2 for USD, EUR, GBP, or INR, and 3 for currencies such as KWD or BHD.
Consistent exports
PDF and CSV exports use the same rounding, so what you see in the app is what your accountant receives.
How to change it
- Open Settings, then Account Setup.
- Under Preferences, find Decimal Places.
- Use the stepper to raise or lower the number and check the example underneath.
- Tap Save.
Where it applies
- Amounts in the expense list and expense detail.
- Tax portions and the Total Tax line on the expense form.
- Totals in reports and on PDF and CSV exports.
Good to know
Tip: Pick the value that matches your base currency and leave it. Changing it mid-year makes older and newer exports look inconsistent.
Rounding is applied to what is displayed and exported. The amount you entered or the scanner read is stored as captured.
